AN AUTHENTHIC ILLUSTRATED VINTAGE PORN IN COLOR

During the 1920s and 1930s, a large number of "under the counter works were published - particularly in France. Most of them were limited to a few hundred copies and were illustrated by "libertine" engravings, that is to say, basic representation of sexual intercourse and its preliminaries.

Among such clandestine productions is this Spring Romance, a fine quarto album, in the publisher's grey slipcase, consiting of a frontspiece and thirty colour plates mounted in an edition of 516 copies on Verge d'Arches paper. The date is not indicated, but it can confidently be asserted that this original edition dates to 1934. In the following year, a pirate edition of 310 copies was produced.

We can state that the illustratior, indicated by the initial "R" in the introduction signed "H" was a tallented Russian artist called Rojankovski, known under the pseudonym "Rojan".
